I am happy to report the details of the Tie Break Tourney in Memory of Susan Griffiths. We raised a total of $2015 which has been donated to the Parkinson Society of Manitoba. We had 38 members from WLTC plus 1 from Tuxedo Tennis Club & 1 from Sargent Park Tennis Garden join us for a fun afternoon of tennis.
I would like to thank all of the participants for their support plus the many people who made a donation but were unable to play in the tournament.
I also want to thank our lead sponsor Frontier Subaru plus Bellissimo Restaurant and Lounge, Moxie's Classic Grill and Beyond the Press for their continued support for our Annual Fundraiser.
I especially want to thank Jamie Koblanski of Ground Roots Cafe located in the Wildewood Club for providing all the complimentary appetizers for the reception following the tournament.
An event like this wouldn't be possible without our great partners and I look forward to doing it all again next year.
A special thank you also to John Steele (our head photographer) for all the great pictures that are attached for you to see.
To Susan's special friends, Judith, Nancy, Dianna, Muriel, Kathy and Angela, thanks very much for your assistance in planning the event.

My apologies for not responding sooner! What an amazing fundraiser!! I had not realized that so many of the tennis players had a family connection to Parkinsons as well. It can be a difficult disease to diagnose and affects all ages. By getting the word out about Parkinsons and its symptoms, etc. we hope that individuals experiencing symptoms will get to the doctor earlier for diagnosis and treatment. As you know, there isn’t any cure for Parkinsons disease currently.
Since exercise is extremely important for individuals diagnosed with Parkinsons, we are very pleased that the fundraiser involved tennis.
The pictures are absolutely wonderful!! Thank you so much for sending those to us. It looks as though it was a lovely day with much fun experienced by all!!
Thank you and all of your staff, volunteers, and sponsors for all of their dedication to a worthwhile cause and such a lovely tribute in memory of Susan. She was such a gracious, kind and lovely lady.
Parkinson Society Manitoba cannot thank you all enough for your thoughtfulness!
We will send tax receipts to all of the listed donors. Please bear with us regarding the timing though. We are in the middle of our SuperWalks and tax receipts for those as well right nowJ
Howard & I are juggling the SuperWalks in various locations this week. One of us will be in the office usually; however please phone first in case we are away.
We are truly blessed that you selected Parkinson Society Manitoba as the recipient of the proceeds. Thank you again, ever so much!
Kind Regards,
